Discover Your True Potential

Turn your attention away from what you want, such as a billion dollars, and instead become genuinely, profoundly curious about what the rest of the world wants and needs.

Consider what you have to offer that is so special, persuasive, and useful that no machine could ever replace you, no one could outsource you, no one could steal your product and improve it, and then club you out of existence (not literally).

Then work on maximizing the opportunity.

Choose one thing to learn and master it. Choose a second item to learn and master it. When you master two worlds (for example, engineering and business), you can combine them in a way that:

a) introduce hot ideas to one another so they can have idea sex and have idea babies that no one has ever seen before, and

b) gain a strategic edge by being able to travel between cultures, speak both languages, bind tribes, and mash the elements to ignite new innovative creativity before you have the life-changing epiphany.

The universe does not bestow a billion dollars on anyone just because they want it or believe they are deserving of it. What you want or deserve is unimportant to the world!

The world gives you money in return for something it considers to be of equal or greater value: something that transforms a facet of society, reworks or adds a new narrative, or changes how people think about and use a category in everyday life.

There is no roadmap, no blueprint for this; a lot of people will give you advice, most of which will be negative, and some of which will be positive and sound, but you'll have to find out how it doesn't relate to you because you're approaching it from an unusual angle.

And you'll be doing it on your own before you gain the charm and reputation necessary to attract the talent you need.

Have faith in yourself. It will come in handy.

Also, best of luck. You'll need it as well!
